WE SUPPORT, PROTECT AND PARTICIPATE IN THE EDUCATION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN VICTIMS OF INJUSTICE
Across 5 continents, we fight violence against women and children. We, the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd, commonly known as the Good Shepherd Sisters, are active in 72 countries. Together with our lay partners, our mission is to promote and defend the rights of women and children in distress or precarious situations and to help them thrive in a healthy environment.
CAPACITY-BUILDING FOR WOMEN
We welcome vulnerable women and help them exercise their fundamental rights. Psychological, social, educational and legal support ensure that they are provided with the professional and personal skills they require for social reintegration.
We contribute to campaigns that fight against human trafficking and domestic violence.

WE PROVIDE PROTECTION FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND SECURE THEIR RIGHTS
Shelters and social centers ensure protection and care for vulnerable children. We offer hospitality and holistic education to hundreds of children every year, paying particular attention to the protection of their rights, particularly those of young girls.
We work in-depth with parents in order to achieve sustainable results and reinforce the family structure.

WE PROVIDE ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE
For those who lack the means for access to public healthcare facilities, much less private healthcare, we offer, in collaboration with our partners, access to an extended range of primary and specialized healthcare services.
Our clinic tends to no less than one hundred patients seeking medical care or medication per day.

WE HELP WITH THE REINTEGRATION OF WOMEN AND YOUNG GIRLS IN PRISON
Women and young girls in prison are offered social and legal assistance as well as spiritual guidance. This support helps prepare women and girls for the process of reintegration into society. Our deep-set belief in the inherent value of every human being moves us to ensure moral support for women who are detained and distraught. By providing an attentive, non-judgmental, and listening presence, we strive to encourage reconciliation and kindle hope in a brighter future.
